Ingredients for 3 to 4 people

Recipe base

  • 200 g of gluten-free orzo Creation Delicia

  • 300 g of minced meat (beef, veal or mixture)

  • 1 large red pepper, diced

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For the sauce and seasoning

  • 300 ml tomato puree (or crushed tomatoes)

  • 1 handful of fresh basil, chopped

  • 100g grated cheese (mozzarella, Emmental, cheddar or a mixture)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Sweet paprika or herbs of Provence (optional)

Preparation steps

1. Cooking gluten-free orzo

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the Delicia Creation gluten-free orzo for 10 to 13 minutes, according to the package instructions (reduce your heat slightly).
  3. Stir occasionally during cooking.
  4. Drain, add a drizzle of olive oil and set aside.

2. Preparation of the beef filling

  1. In a pan, heat the olive oil.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced red pepper and continue cooking for 5 to 6 minutes until tender.
  4. Add the minced meat and brown it evenly.
  5. Add salt, pepper, herbs or spices of your choice.

3. Assembling the tomato sauce

  1. Pour the tomato puree into the pan with the meat and vegetables.
  2. Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes to develop the aromas.
  3. Add the cooked orzo, mix well to coat all the ingredients.

4. Finalization and gratinating

  1. Stir in half of the grated cheese and the chopped basil.
  2. Mix one last time then spread the remaining cheese on top.
  3. Cover the pan to melt the cheese over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes.
    Gourmet option : Place everything in the oven in grill mode to lightly brown the top.
